SolarWorld Solar Panels Power Largest Solar Installation in West Virginia

American Public University System (APUS), an online higher-education provider focused on the military and public service communities, has christened the largest solar array in West Virginia. The 407-kilowatt system is comprised of 1,671 high-performance solar panels from SolarWorld, the largest U.S. solar manufacturer for more than 35 years. The installation is mounted on a carport structure at APUS’ headquarters in Charles Town, W.V., deep in West Virginia’s panhandle.

JP Energy Partners, LP (“JPE”) has agreed to acquire Heritage Propane Express, LLC (“HPX”). JPE through its subsidiary Pinnacle Propane, LLC (“Pinnacle”), is a leading distributor of propane in the south and southwest United States. HPX is a rapidly growing business serving the eastern two thirds of the United States, and is the third largest propane cylinder exchange business in the country. The acquisition of HPX will add cylinder exchange as a service offering to Pinnacle Propane, which will complement Pinnacle’s retail propane and refined fuel businesses.

ArborGen Participates in Seedling Planting Day to Support Reforestation Efforts at the Flight 93 Memorial

ArborGen, a world leader in the development and commercialization of technologies that improve the productivity of trees for wood, fiber and energy, donated 1,600 seedlings to support the reforestation efforts at the Flight 93 National Memorial in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Led by the National Park Service and the Office of Surface Mining – Appalachian Regional Reforestation Initiative (ARRI), over 15,000 seedlings were planted at the memorial site during the last two weekends of April. Foresters from ArborGen joined a group of 600 volunteers from public and private organizations affiliated with ARRI, who planted the seedlings under the guidance of tree-planting experts and professional landscapers, including ArborGen’s Geoff Hill, a forester who has worked extensively with ARRI.
