Gas Supply Contract Worth Up to $2.2MM for ThermoEnergy

ARKANSAS, LITTLE ROCK, Mar. 12 -/E-Wire/-- ThermoEnergy Corporation (OTCBB:TMEN) announced today that its Energy Resources Division signed its first commercial gas supply contract on February 28. The contract provides for 177,475 MM Btu of natural gas supplied by the Red Willow Corporation, wholly owned by the Southern Ute Tribe, one of the largest Native American producers of natural gas. Index pricing and other considerations are expected to push the total contract value over the $2.0 million mark.

"The Southern Ute have been a major player in the Western energy market for a long time,' said Bill McCabe, V. P. Energy Resources for ThermoEnergy, "and we are very pleased to be working with their organization.' A large percentage of U.S. energy resources are located on Tribal lands. However, according to McCabe, only a fraction of these resources have been tapped. "The overall market potential of these resources is enormous,' said McCabe. "However, finding markets for these resources is only one aspect of our overall service.' "We plan to work with Tribes and Tribal organizations, to create comprehensive plans to develop and maximize the value of these energy resources, including the realistic possibility of establishing Indian owned and operated merchant power plants.'
