Advanced Energy Research Names Distinguished Scientist to Advisory Board

Dr. Jerry Moore to assist in TrueFuel' Development

IDAHO, ST. PETERSBURG, Mar. 12 -/E-Wire/-- Advanced Energy Research Corporation today announced the appointment of Dr. Jerry Moore to the Scientific Advisory Board of AERC. Dr. Moore is a distinguished environmental scientist.

Dr. Moore has extensive senior U.S. government level and private experience in environmental asset assessment, quality management of political/scientific systems and innovative problem solving. He has been an active participant in legislative affairs related to politically sensitive issues related to environmental protection.

Dr. Moore was a charter member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and worked there for 25 years. Among many accomplishments, Dr. Moore Co-Chaired the Water Research Committee, and was Chairman of the Alternate Fuels Research Committee and the Air Research Committee in the Office of Research and Development for the Office of Health and Environmental Assessment. On the Alternative Fuels Committee, Dr. Moore came up with solutions to the fuel crisis and worked with industry to design engines.

Dr. Moore led the work on the cancellation of DDT, Aldrin, Dieldrin, Chlordane and Heptachlor. His efforts initiated TOSCA and UST. Dr. Moore served on committees that initiated the Superfund (CERCLA) and Resource Recovery Act (RCRA).

Dr. Moore worked on the Alaskan oil spill, the Bhopal disaster and the burning oil wells in Kuwait.

As a key administrator at the EPA, Dr. Moore's many accomplishments include setting up the environmental review process for the U.S. Agricultural Research Service and assisted in the establishment of the Office of Toxic Substances.

Dr. Moore received one silver medal, two bronze medals and 22 special money act awards from the EPA. President Bush awarded Dr. Moore the Thousand Points of Light Award for Dr. Moore's work at the EPA.

Dr. Moore is located in Fairfax, Virginia and is currently employed as an environmental consultant to several companies.

Dr. Moore has a B.S. from Fairmont State College, a M.S. from West Virginia University, Pre-Doctorate work at American University, his Ph.D. from HEED University with Postgraduate work at Georgetown University, and his J.D. in Environmental Law from LaSalle University.

Dr. Moore is certified as a Wildlife Biologist, Oceanographer, Pesticide Applicator in 10 categories, a Wetlands Specialist, a hazardous and non-hazardous Landfill Operator, a Medical Waste Coordinator, and an Organic Matter Specialist.
