Flow International Announces New Identity For
Fresher Under Pressureî Food Technology Subsidiary
WASHINGTON, KENT, Mar. 14 -/E-Wire/-- Flow International Corporation (NASDQ:FLOW) today announced a new corporate identity for its high pressure food technology subsidiary-Avure Technologies Incorporated. The wholly owned subsidiary produces high-pressure processing technology for food safety and fresh product applications under the Fresher Under Pressureî brand name.
"The new name, Avure Technologies, suggests the freshness and purity of foods produced with high pressure," stated Pat Adams, President and CEO of Avure. "Avure is the image our customers desire as they introduce high-pressure products-the image of pure, wholesome, natural foods that retain their fresh taste and nutritional value, while being safer and longer-lasting."
"With the applications for our food technology growing and expanding into several market segments, it becomes necessary to create a new identity to cover all aspects of our food business," said Ron Tarrant, Chairman, President, and CEO of Flow International. "The Avure identity will allow us to focus on a broader penetration of the food industry."
"Growing consumer interest in pure, all natural, great tasting foods continues to drive demand for technologies that increase safety and still retain natural taste and quality," noted Adams. "Fresher Under Pressure satisfies all these needs."
Avure Technologies' Fresher Under Pressure high-pressure processing systems are being employed by producers of ready-to-eat meats, fresh juices, prepared fruits and vegetables, and seafood to ensure food safety and extend refrigerated shelf-life.
Flow International Corporation is the world's leading developer and manufacturer of ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) waterjet technology for cutting, cleaning, and food safety applications, as well as isostatic and flexform presses. Avure Technologies Incorporated, a wholly owned subsidiary of Flow International Corporation, uses its Fresher Under Pressureî high-pressure processing to destroy food-borne bacteria and organisms that can cause health hazards and spoilage in fresh foods, without compromising taste, texture, or nutritional value.
