-- NEWS ADVISORY -- TO BUSINESS, CITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL EDITORS:
Media Briefing on GEMI's New Publication: 'New Paths to Business Value: Strategic Sourcing-Environment, Health, and Safety'
DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, WASHINGTON, Feb. 26 -/E-Wire/-- The Global Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI) will announce the availability of its newest publication, New Paths to Business Value: Strategic Sourcing-Environment, Health, and Safety on March 13th at a media briefing in Washington, D.C. This guidance document has been designed to address the business value of managing Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) in Procurement. It is designed to help identify when, why, and how to pursue added business value by addressing the environmental, health and safety (EHS) performance of suppliers and contractors, and understand how their products and services might affect your business.
Large and small companies alike are continually looking for new ways to enhance the top and bottom line value of their companies. HSE professionals, facility managers and business unit leaders provide value to their companies by reducing costs and risks, and improving the overall financial performance through the understanding of EH&S; is more than a regulatory compliance issue.
GEMI is a non-profit organization of 37 leading companies dedicated to fostering environmental, health and safety excellence around the world.
