DynaMotive to Participate in US Department of Energy Funded Program for the Development of Integrated Pyrolysis / Combined Cycle Biomass Power System

CANADA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, VANCOUVER, Apr. 16 -/E-Wire/-- DynaMotive Energy Systems Corporation (OTCBB: DYMTF) announced today that the US Department of Energy has awarded $250,000 to determine the technical and commercial viability of integrated pyrolysis / combined cycle biomass power systems.

DynaMotive’s US subsidiary, its R&D; partner Resource Transforms International (RTI) Ltd., Alliant Energy Corporation and a team of experts in power plant design, electric utility operation and biomass energy will conduct the program. Other partners in the program are: Black and Veatch Corp., a leading consulting firm in the design and construction of power plants, and The Center for Sustainable Environmental Technologies at Iowa State University, recognized for its expertise in thermal processing of biomass. Alliant Energy will act as the coordinating partner.

Key objectives include the:

* design of a combined cycle gas turbine system to use BioOil as a fuel.

* evaluation of fuel supply and cost.

* evaluation of processes to separate high-value by-products from BioOil.

* economic evaluation of the proposed biomass power system.

The program is due to be completed by the 2nd quarter of this year.
