A Connecticut Company Unveils a Unique Product ..'The Cigarette Tube(TM)'

Free Tubes to Celebrate Earth Day 2002

CONNECTICUT, BRANFORD, Apr. 18 -/E-Wire/-- "Carry and use a portable or disposable ashtray for places where receptacles are not available,' says Philip Morris, http://www.philipmorrisusa.com.

This is exactly what one Connecticut company is offering!

"The Cigarette Tube(TM) is a unique device that allows smokers to control their habit and never have to throw another butt on the ground,' says Peter Braun, Managing Partner of RASCO Braun, LLC and inventor.

RASCO Braun, LLC, based in Branford, Connecticut will debut The Cigarette Tube(TM) during the Earth Day celebration by giving away free tubes from 8 a.m. Saturday, April 20 through midnight Monday, April 22 on their website, http://www.thecigarettetube.com.

"We thought Earth Day would be the ideal time to debut our product. Anyone who visits our website, during the Earth Day weekend can get a free Cigarette Tube(TM),' says Braun.

The Cigarette Tube(TM) is a 3.5-inch brass tube, fitted with a cap and clip, which extinguishes a lit cigarette in seconds and then stores it. This product was originally developed to help smokers cut back, save money in the process, and eventually quit.

Braun says that he hopes to give away 10,000 tubes on Earth Day. "If 10,000 smokers start using the tube to dispose of their cigarette butts, this will mean a potential decrease of hundreds of thousands of littered cigarette butts each day. At least, it's a start.'

In an effort to educate smokers about the dangers of cigarette litter, RASCO Braun has joined forces with CigaretteLitter.Org, http://www.cigarettelitter.org.

We are working jointly to educate the public about the need for proper cigarette disposal," said Walter Lamb, Founder of CigaretteLitter.Org. 'Our hope is that products like The Cigarette Tube(TM) will not only make it easier for smokers to do the right thing, but will also help spread the word about cigarette litter," continues Lamb.

According to CigaretteLitter.Org, estimated 4.5 trillion non-biodegradable cigarette butts are littered worldwide every year.

CigaretterLitter.Org is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to running educational campaigns aimed at reducing the amount of cigarette litter damages and hazards of cigarettes.
