Peanotz® Soya Snack Wins 2002 Gold Medal Taste Award

American Tasting Institute Awards Top Snack Food Ranking to the Nut that's Not

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, Apr. 23 -/E-Wire/-- Peanotz Inc.®, the nut that is NOT a peanut, today received a 2002 Gold Medal Product Award from the American Tasting Institute. A Midwest farm-grown soy snack produced from non-GMO soybeans, the Peanotz product comes in several healthy and tasty snack food varieties. Receiving the award for "Best Tasting Soy Nut Snack" in the 16th Annual American Tasting Institute Awards ceremony this afternoon in New York, Peanotz was ranked the number one soy nut product in America.

"With a growing consumer demand for soy-products which have been linked to reducing heart disease, we've seen a spike in soy-related product entries," said Mark Oldham, Vice President of the American Tasting Institute. "The soy snack category is new this year and the company response was phenomenal with hundreds of entries. Yet, our expert culinary judging board found that the intense flavor and distinct taste of Peanotz was heads and shoulders above the rest."

The awards are judged over a 12-month period by the sophisticated palates of the American Tasting Institute's national board comprised of over 100 chefs in 15 cities nationwide. As part of a black tie ceremony today in New York, a group of national jurists comprised of acclaimed chefs and board members personally presented the award. Winners were recognized as part of a formal program and received their awards onstage.

"We're pleased and honored to be included among some of the best food products in the country," said Tim Walter, Founder of Peanotz, Inc. "As a South Dakota soybean farmer, I'm proud and excited that our product has gained recognition not only for the health-benefits of soy yet, also for the great taste of our special soya snack recipe."

Peanotz, the nut that's NOT a peanut, was developed by Founder Tim Walter and Dakota Farms International. The soya snack product is available both salty and sweet varieties including original, onion-garlic, barbeque, honey roasted, buffalo hot, cinnamon raison, mesquite salsa and crunchy soy delight. Today, the product is available online at http://www.peanotz.com.
