Brownouts, Blackouts Ahead --Power Shortages Likely due to Deregulation, According to 29-Year Power Industry Engineer

BURKE, VIRGINIA, Apr. 25 -/E-Wire/-- Deregulation is forcing the nation into serious shortages of generating and transmission capacity, which, within five years, will ultimately result in widespread-rotating-local and regional electrical brownouts and blackouts.

The worst possible consequence of deregulation is the decline or decay in the reliability of the nation's electrical power supply. This is according to Jack Duckworth's paperback "Power to the People, Electric Power Deregulation, An Exposé" ($18.00, Judgment Ring Books) www.judgmentring.com

"The nation's transmission system was built under the premise that best economic efficiency is achieved when power generators are built close to the customers' loads," says Duckworth, "now with the stroke of a pen the government says that it's a whole new world where power generators can be built anywhere and the transmission system is expected to get the power to the customers where ever they may be."

"You can't all of a sudden change the use of equipment, or a complex system, to accomplish something other than what it was designed to do and not expect severe consequences," says Duckworth, "It's like a couple of high school kids renting a limo to take their dates to the prom and then changing their minds and taking the limo off road into the woods and using it to haul firewood instead."

Duckworth said he believes, the reason the country has avoided problems for the present is the downturn of the economy, but within 5 years the nation is going to be in big trouble as the economy heats up again.
