Woodside Energy Licenses Steady State and

Dynamic Simulation Software From Hyprotech

Major Australian Oil & Gas Exploration and Production Firm Chooses HYSYS

CANADA, ALBERTA, CALGARY, Apr. 25 -/E-Wire/Business Wire/-- Hyprotech today announced an agreement with Woodside Energy to utilise Hyprotech's steady state simulation software, HYSYS.Process, and dynamic simulation software, HYSYS.Plant+ for Woodside's onshore and offshore oil and gas production facilities. The HYSYS Suite provides best-in-class tools for optimising asset profits throughout the plant lifecycle, while supporting collaborative engineering and promoting the transfer of "engineering to business" knowledge, a key component of Hyprotech's competitive advantage.

Woodside has already used this software for the design of the Trunkline System Expansion Project (TSEP). The TSEP project involves the construction of a 42- inch trunkline linking the onshore gas processing plant near Karratha, Western Australia, and the gas production facilities located some 130km offshore.

Of major importance to Woodside was the ability to accept these models into the organisation upon completion of the project. Woodside also expects to extend this modelling to their offshore platforms and onshore LNG and LPG facilities.

Hyprotech provides the capability to develop dynamic models from existing steady state models simply by adding additional information to the flowsheet. Hyprotech is the only company able to offer the combined benefits of steady state simulation, dynamic simulation, real time optimization, and operator training using the same simulation model.

Martin Wilkes, Woodside's Leader Strategy and Business Planning-NWS Oil Team, said: "Woodside is looking forward to working with the Hyprotech software which will complement and enhance our existing process simulation software suite. With this Agreement, we hope to build an in-house dynamic modelling capability based on our steady state knowledge."

Woodside Energy Ltd. is Australia's largest independent oil and gas exploration and production company by market capitalisation and is a joint venture participant in, and operator of, Australia's largest resource development, the North West Shelf Venture in Western Australia. Woodside has extensive production and exploration interests in Australia, including the North West Shelf, the Timor Sea, and the Otway and Gippsland Basins in southern Victoria. It also has interests in Mauritania, Algeria, the Gulf of Mexico and Papua New Guinea.
