ESP Celebrates a Decade of Environmental Software
CALIFORNIA, MOUNTAIN VIEW, Apr. 30 -/E-Wire/-- ESP (Environmental Software Providers) marks its tenth anniversary this month. The company is the leading provider of enterprise software that helps its large base of Fortune 500 companies achieve environmental sustainability, compliance, and asset management goals. ESP is a self-funded private company that has grown by 40-70% per year for the past five years.
ESP's ten-year track record is best illustrated through its successful development of two product lines which have become standards in the enterprise environmental software industry. The company's opsEnvironmental suite is recognized as the best-in-class solution for enterprise environmental management software. ESP's ecoAsset Manager suite has met with similar success, dominating the emissions allowance management industry since its 1994 debut.
"As we celebrate our first decade, we credit our success to a philosophy of close collaboration with our customers in product development.," said Alex Long, ESP co-founder and president. "As ESP has grown and our customer base has multiplied and diversified, we have continued to solicit customer participation in our product development. We believe that that the strength of our products and our position as the industry leader is a direct result of this active customer participation."
ESP began as collaboration between a consortium of ten electric power and gas transmission companies. From these roots the company grew to serve a broad range of industries, including the aerospace/defense, pharmaceutical, oil and gas exploration, pipeline, refining, chemical and other industries. ESP software is now used in well over a thousand facilities, managing environmental data for companies ranging from single facilities to global enterprises.
Entering its second decade, ESP is poised to continue the combination of innovation in product development and steady growth which have characterized its first ten years. David Gloski, ESP co-founder and executive vice president, notes that the company is in an excellent position to help industry prepare for upcoming major regulatory changes. "One of the next big challenges for industry is greenhouse gas management, and ESP is uniquely positioned to assist companies with this challenge," said Gloski. "We are currently working with customers to develop a robust software solution based on proven ESP technology. This software will help companies be prepared as the new regulations come online."
When asked how the environmental software industry has changed over the past decade, Alex Long noted that there is a trend toward enterprise environmental management systems and sustainable development. "Companies have moved beyond regulatory compliance and are focusing heavily on sustainability issues," he said. "Increasingly, they are looking for software solutions which help them answer the challenge of sustainable growth." ESP, by working in close collaboration with its software users, is poised to meet this challenge.
