EarthSoft announces EQuIS Enterprise-Oracle Purchase by New Jersey DEP
New Drinking Water System to be implemented in EQuIS
FLORIDA, PENSACOLA, Jun. 4 -/E-Wire/-- EarthSoft today announced that it has received an order from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) for EQuIS Enterprise (Oracle) and supporting services to develop a fully automated solution for implementing the new Private Well Testing law. This work includes electronic transmittal of data from laboratories to the NJDEP, comparison of sample results to drinking water standards and issuance of exceedance notices to local health departments.
The NJDEP has been using EQuIS desktop systems for several years. EarthSoft's 'DUET' system will be used to upload and update data sets from EQuIS Desktops to EQuIS Enterprise, and back again. The HAZSITES group has 7,500 cases comprising 5.5 million records in EQuIS.
EarthSoft Chief Technical Officer Terry Kenney said, "We are thrilled that NJDEP chose EarthSoft to instantiate the Geist bill requirements, and we are looking forward to assisting NJDEP with what may become a national model for monitoring the quality of drinking water wells." Mitch Beard, President of EarthSoft added, "we are pleased that the NJDEP has chosen EQuIS to manage both remediation data and safe drinking water data."
As part of the associated services, EarthSoft is building a new moduleâthe EDDPâ to support the batch import and checking of an EDD chosen by the NJDEP. The EDDP will provide an on-line mechanism for a state to check in EDD's from a large, diverse regulated community. The Safe Drinking Water group will use the EDDP to load data directly into EQuIS Enterprise.
EarthSoft has identified David Karns, who joined EarthSoft in January from the Florida DEP, as Project Manager to help EarthSoft with this important project.
EarthSoft, of Pensacola, Florida, develops and markets software for the management of environmental data. The EQuIS software is used by many industrial, government, and consulting clients. EarthSoft may be reached at [REDACTED-EMAIL], or please visit their web page at www.earthsoft.com.
