Arcadis Awarded U.S. Military Contracts in Germany

EUROPE, NETHERLANDS, ARNHEM, Jun. 19 -/E-Wire/Business Wire/-- ARCADIS (NASDAQ:ARCAF)(EURONEXT:ARCAD) announced today that it has recently been awarded a series of contracts for the United States military,including an IDT-Contract (Indefinite Delivery Type Contract) awarded by the USAFE Contracting Squadron, based in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Services to be provided under this contract include architectural-engineering design services for engineering disciplines, such as electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering for design or maintenance and repair projects, as well as the new construction for a variety of military facilities located in the Kaiserslautern Military Community (both US Army and US Air Force installations). The contract will be for a period of 5 years and has a value of US$2.5 million. ARCADIS was chosen for this contract based on its international network and experience in working with the U.S. authorities. ARCADIS employees from Germany and the United States will cooperate on this contract. Both groups already have multi-year experience in working with the U.S. military and have all-encompassing know-how on the standards and working methods used by this client. Commenting on the project win, Erhard Robold, Director of ARCADIS' German operations stated: "We're excited about this project because it provides ample opportunity to offer this customer an integrated package of services, combining many of the skills ARCADIS has to offer." In addition to the above project, ARCADIS is also doing work for the U.S. Air Force at Ramstein Air Base near Kaiserslautern. In one of these projects, the Company is providing innovative remedial technologies to clean up contaminants that were caused by testing jet motors and propeller jet engines at the site in past periods. The technologies under consideration for the clean up operations include "natural attenuation", "funnel and gate" and the "IRZ-(In-situ-Reactive-Zone)-Method". These technologies have already been successfully applied by ARCADIS in multiple countries, including Germany. The Company is bidding for other U.S. military forces work as well.
