DEP Secretary Struhs to Tour Cook Lumber's Plant Conversion to EnviroSafe's Arsenic-Free Wood Treatment Process

FLORIDA, TAMPA, Jun. 21 -/E-Wire/Business Wire/-- On Monday, June 24 at 10 a.m., Florida Department of Environmental Protection Secretary David B. Struhs, will tour Cook Lumber, Florida's oldest wood treatment company, for a look at how this Tampa facility is being converted to exclusively provide wood treated with EnviroSafe Plus. Struhs will be joined by DEP Southwest District Director Deborah Getzoff, EnviroSafe CEO Bob Grantham, and Cook Lumber owner Joel Miller.

EnviroSafe Plus, a non-toxic preservative, offers Florida residents an effective and environmentally safe alternative to wood pressure-treated with heavy metals and arsenic (CCA). EnviroSafe Plus, a borate-based preservative ("Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate"), utilizes a patented binding formulation to assure the retention of the effective levels of borates required to provide a long term barrier against fungi, mold and insects, including termites.

"In addition to being an effective and environmentally safe preservative, EnviroSafe Plus also helps maintain the natural color and beauty of wood while reducing the its tendency to crack, warp and twist," said EnviroSafe CEO Bob Grantham.

EnviroSafe has spent the last two years subjecting the treatment process to rigorous testing. The company is confident it will be the first to receive an Environmentally Preferable Product certification in the very near future.

For more information regarding EnviroSafe Plus, please visit the EnviroSafe web site at http://www.eswoodtreatment.com. Cook Lumber is located at 1905 North 66th Street, Tampa, Florida 33619.

EnviroSafe is a Florida-based company whose mission is to "enhance the quality of treated wood" and become the premier provider of environmentally safe and cost effective wood preservatives worldwide.
