Linde Takes Over Thermatrix, Inc.

TENNESSEE, KNOXVILLE, Apr. 10 -/E-Wire/Business Wire/-- Linde AG, through its subsidiary Selas Fluid Processing Corporation (SFPC) of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, has acquired the stock of Thermatrix, Inc., Knoxville, Tennessee.

Thermatrix operates in the field of flameless thermal oxidation and serves the chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries. In 2001 Thermatrix had annual sales of 17.3 million dollars with a staff of more than 30 employees in Knoxville, TN. The financial resources and backing of Linde AG will enable Thermatrix to accelerate its growth in the global market.

The Gas and Engineering Business Segment of Linde AG operates worldwide in the field of petrochemical and low temperature technology as well as gas liquefaction and environmental engineering. In 2001, this division had sales of 4.5 billion dollars with a staff of 21,650 employees. Its subsidiary SFPC is a company specializing in the design and engineering of fired process heaters, LNG vaporizers and thermal oxidizers.

The combination of SFPC and Thermatrix will strengthen Linde's market position in the field of environmental plants.
