Major Advancement in Combustion Technology Could Drastically Reduce Foreign Oil Imports

FLORIDA, ST. PETERSBURG, Jul. 10 -/E-Wire/-- Dean F. Johnson, developer of a technology used in fossil and bio fuels to increase their thermal value, says his technology can reduce the United States dependence on foreign oil.

„This country can attain a reduction of around twenty percent (20%) of foreign oil if this technology is applied on a large scale," said Johnson.

Johnson says his theory, entitled „Radiant Containment," has been proven in laboratory tests and actual use. Radiant Containment works somewhat like a laser. By absorbing radiance in the flame, the internal temperature is increased and can be converted into kinetic energy. This saves fuel. Also, like a laser, the surrounding areas are cooler translating into a more efficient burn.

Without changing the base fuel composition, as required by the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM), Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), Military Specifications or U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) protocol the technology increases thermal value of all hydrocarbon fuels including both fossil and the bio renewable fuels.

"As this technology evolves and is utilized, air pollution will be greatly reduced. There will be a dramatic reduction in smog and the slowing of global warming," said Johnson.

The cost to apply this technology is negative to the user due to the savings resulting from the increase in the thermal value of fuel. Also, this technology could be applied to all fuels in a matter of months with no changes to the infrastructure according to Johnson.
