New Magazine Tackles Tough Environmental Issues

The New Environmentalist Takes a Refreshingly Simple Approach to

Helping People Understand Difficult Environmental Concerns

CALIFORNIA, EL DORADO HILLS, Jul. 11 -/E-Wire/-- Within four months of going live, online magazine and resource center The New Environmentalist has attracted thousands of readers -- from soccer moms and solar enthusiasts to students, educators and other professionals as far away as Viet Nam and South Africa -- with its global appeal. With such articles as "Global Warming: What's Really Going On?," "Our World in Peril: Fact or Fiction," and the controversial topic of Genetically Modified Organisms ("Food"), TNE editors have made an effort to present both sides of each issue thoughtfully and factually, leaving readers to make choices they can feel good about.

Religion and the Environment

What role does religion play in shaping our attitude toward the environment? In the latest issue of The New Environmentalist, readers will find a wealth of information about religion and the environment, including a special interview conducted by TNE founder and publisher Ray Rasmussen.

High Performance Schools

Did you know that statistics show there is a direct correlation between test scores and a school's indoor air quality, which is, in many cases, very poor? This month, read about "High Performance Schools," including ways you can help ensure your children's learning environment is a healthy one.

Subscribers can expect to find an abundance of resources on global environmental issues, monthly topics and articles written with the everyday consumer in mind. At just $36 per year, subscribers will learn how to save hundreds of dollars on their home energy costs, reduce waste and help their kids learn about the environment, all while reducing their footprint on the planet.

To help accelerate environmental improvement, new subscribers will receive three compact fluorescent lights, saving them between $90 and $120 over the life of the bulbs while reducing air pollution by thousands of pounds. As a result, subscribers will receive 3X the cost of their subscriptions while improving the quality of our air.

Additionally, for each subscriber who signs up now, The New Environmentalist will fund the planting of a new tree, which will eventually absorb hundreds of thousands of pounds of air pollution over its lifetime.

"Learning more about how to apply common sense, simple technology and good science at the local level -- one person, one family, one community, at a time -- is the right thing to do, whether your motivation is environmental or financial. You'll create even greater abundance in your life and in the lives of your children," said Rasmussen.
