Environmental Elements Awarded New Precipitator Contract Worth More than $4.5 Million

MARYLAND, BALTIMORE, Jul. 18 -/E-Wire/-- Environmental Elements Corporation (Amex: EEC) has received an order for more than $4.5 million in value for the design, supply, and installation of a new electrostatic precipitator. The project was awarded by Arkansas Kraft, a division of Green Bay Packaging, a leading pulp & paper company.

The EEC electrostatic precipitator for Arkansas Kraft's existing recovery boiler will provide dramatic improvements to the outlet emissions and opacity while allowing the plant to burn high solid liquor and improve the efficiency of their process. The scope consists of reconfiguring the precipitator arrangement and installing new ductwork, fan, and stack, while incorporating the latest technology in particulate control. This fast-track project is scheduled for completion in April 2003 and will be tied into the plant's operation during a routine seven-day outage.

According to EEC President and CEO John L. Sams, "The Arkansas Kraft award provides a substantial and immediate impact on EEC's Systems Business Unit and continues our 50+ years of being the leading supplier of electrostatic precipitators for the pulp & paper industry. Over the years, EEC has supplied more than 275 precipitators for use on recovery boilers. This precipitator will replace a 30-year-old EEC precipitator that provided Arkansas Kraft years of trouble-free service. We look forward to providing the same level of service on this high solids application."
