FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ARCADIS Project Wins in the U.S. Buildings Market

EUROPE, NETHERLANDS, ARNHEM, Jul. 24 -/E-Wire/Business Wire/-- ARCADIS (NASDAQ: ARCAF, EURONEXT: ARCAD)announced today that it has been awarded over $8 million in new contractsfor its Buildings Division located in Detroit, Michigan.

This new work is in two contracts: one for Hyundai Motor Company; and one for DENSO International America, Inc. Work on both contracts is expected to start this summer.

The Hyundai contract is for the design of the company's new automotive production plant in Montgomery, Alabama. The $1 billion U.S. facility includes approximately two million square feet of assembly plant, body shop, engine plant, stamping plant, paint shop and office facilities. This will be the first Hyundai plant built in the U.S.

The DENSO contract is a design-build assignment for the modification of existing lab space to accept a new test cell. DENSO is a leading supplier of advanced automotive technology, systems and components for all the world's major automakers. The work is to be done at the DENSO facilities located in Southfield, Michigan. The sales, marketing and demonstration facilities at this complex were originally designed by ARCADIS in the late 1980s.

The manufacturing buildings market has experienced a significant slow down in the past year. After a flat first quarter 2002, ARCADIS saw both the number and volume of requests for proposals increase during the second quarter, culminating in these $8 million in contract awards during June 2002. Asked to comment on the recent wins, Steve Blake, member of the Executive Board for ARCADIS and overseeing the North and South American activities of the firm stated: "We are very pleased with our Buildings Division's success in winning these very important contracts and these orders should form a good basis for improved utilization of our U.S.-based buildings sector for the second half of 2002."
