The Climate Trust Signs $1.2 Million Contract with Sure Power Corporation; Unveils "Pay-on-Delivery" Model for Greenhouse Gas Reductions

CONNECTICUT, DANBURY, Sep. 30 -/E-Wire/-- The Climate Trust of Portland, Ore. has committed $1.2 million to helping Sure Power Corporation of Danbury, Conn. install highly reliable and efficient onsite power generation systems that reduce emissions of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide.

"Sure Power's systems emit less carbon dioxide than grid-based power," said Mike Burnett, executive director of The Climate Trust. "We'll purchase these reduced carbon dioxide emissions using an innovative 'pay-on-delivery' model that makes annual payments to Sure Power for carbon dioxide offsets after a third party verifies the magnitude of the reduction."

This payment arrangement, which The Climate Trust calls groundbreaking, will help promote Sure Power's systems, making them more attractive to energy-reliant businesses that are seeking a more reliable power source than the utility grid.

Sure Power's environmentally-friendly systems compete with conventional power systems by producing what the company calls "24-by-7-by-forever" computer-grade electricity through a patented architecture of multiple power generation devices, including fuel cells, gas reciprocating engines and turbines â all installed with state-of-the-art environmental controls.
