Maptech - It's Real 3D - Just Like the Movies - Glasses and All

Terrain Navigator CD-ROMs Make USGS Topo Maps Come Alive

Award-winning -- Nationwide Coverage - 3,500 Topos for under $150

MASSACHUSETTS, ANDOVER, Mar. 5 -/E-Wire/-- Maptech (Andover, MA) announces two new Super 3D features to its award winning Terrain Navigator CD-ROMs. Yes, glasses are included, but not required. One 3D feature is truly a "Wow" experience. Wearing the glasses the topographic maps jump out at you in true 3D movie-like fashion. The visual impact gives you a deeper appreciation and understanding of the lay of the land. However, glasses are not needed with the other vivid 3D options. For example, you can see two images side-by side - one in 3D and the other as a flat topo map or view the entire map in 3D from any angle. The new 3D features give hikers, hunters, fishermen and professional map users a better tool to plan any outdoor adventure or project. And that's not all.

Automatically load waypoints or routes directly into or from your GPS unit. Scroll seamlessly from map to map, or view individual maps, complete with collar information. Print your own version of a genuine USGS topographic map. Record your favorite outdoor sites and bookmark the map for instant retrieval.

"Terrain Navigator offers the highest quality map images, both on-screen and in-print; easier to use software with GPS integration, seamless maps, and unique 3D views," says Martin Fox, Maptech's spokesperson. "The quality of the 3D imagery is unparalleled. Each Super Region sells for under $150 - less than 4 cents per quad! Our goal is to offer the best product, at the best price for the outdoor adventurer or professional map user."

There are 30 Terrain Navigator Super Regions nationwide. Each region averages 3,500 genuine USGS topographic maps in both the 1:24,000 and 1:100,000 map scales and sells for $149.95.
