FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CALIFORNIA, NOVATO, Oct. 7 -/E-Wire/-- Organic Bouquet, Inc., the nation's first organic floral company, has developed sourcing for over 10 million stems of organic flowers for the 2002-2003 crop season.

Since formation in January 2001, Organic Bouquet signed production contracts with major growers in several countries to produce organic flowers exclusively for the Company. All of the organic flowers are certified organic by agencies accredited by the USDA's new National Organic Standards Program, which goes into effect October 21, 2002.

In addition to the Company's grower base in California and Oregon, a variety of organic flowers to ensure year-round supplies are sourced from a diverse network of growers in Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, Holland, and Costa Rica.

New offerings include organic roses, tulips, and a bouquet du jour--a country-style bouquet that is specially arranged with a colorful selection of the freshest organic flowers picked for the specified day of shipment. Through the Company's Internet partner Proflowers, organic bouquets are currently on sale at Proflowers.com, starting at $39.95 plus shipping.

According to Organic Bouquet CEO and co-founder Gerald Prolman, "Growers have been receptive to initiate organic production for the Company as agrichemicals are continuously banned, energy and labor costs increase, and global competition is fierce. In addition, there is an oversupply market situation. Organic production means new growth for the floral industry, especially as consumer awareness of social and environmental issues relating to floral production continues to rise."

"The primary goal of organic agriculture is to optimize the health and productivity of interdependent communities of soil life, plants, animals, and people," stated Company president and co-founder Dave Smith. "Organic Bouquet is fast becoming the recognized brand for thoughtful gifts that make a statement about values, whether you are the giver or receiver. Organic flowers say 'I care about you and the environment.'"
