Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Approval To

CANADA, ONTARIO, HAMILTON, Nov. 12 -/E-Wire/-- HYDROMET ENVIRONMENTAL RECOVERY LTD. ("Company") (TSX Venture Exchange: YHM.A) announces that it has received formal written approval from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) to begin operations at its hazardous waste recycling facility inNewman, Illinois. This allows the facility (Hydromet Environmental (USA) Inc.); which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company; to receive and process tin and selenium waste materials. The Company had already received a RCRA B permit from the IEPA, which extends to December 2010 and is renewable at that time. Stringent pre-operational requirements and inspections by the IEPA have now been completed. Dr. William Morgan, Chairman of Hydromet states "This is a momentous occasion for Hydromet and is the culmination of three years of diligent work to satisfy the IEPA's requirements to reopen the plant. We now have one of the largest non ferrous metal hazardous waste recycling facilities in North America open for business."
