New Subsidiary, Evolution Design Broadband
Acquires State-of-the-Art Internet Assets from OnTera Broadband
NEW YORK, NEW YORK, Mar. 24 -/E-Wire/Business Wire/-- Telecom systems provider Custom Design Communications, Inc. (CDC)has expanded into the delivery of high-speed Internet service by creating a new subsidiary and acquiring telecommunications infrastructure covering more than two dozen residential buildings in the New York metropolitan region.
Founded just five years ago, CDC is a multimillion-dollar firm that continues to grow at triple-digit annual rates. It provides end-to-end design and installation of voice, data and video systems for clients that include major financial service, commercial, industrial, healthcare, real estate and educational organizations in the New York region.
The mission of the new subsidiary, Evolution Design Broadband (EDB), is to offer high-speed Internet and telecom consulting/advisory services to owners and managers of residential and commercial buildings in the New York area. In addition to Internet service, EDB plans to offer: network design; local and long-distance telephone service; consulting on carrier-related issues; and disaster recovery consulting and implementation.
"After building a strong presence in the telecom systems market over the past five years, Evolution Design Broadband is the next step in our strategy of creating full-service telecommunications solutions for our growing client base," said Neil Breslau, CEO of Custom Design Communications.
As its first initiative, EDB has acquired the assets and interests of a high-speed Internet system and service covering several dozen residential buildings in New York and New Jersey that were formerly owned and operated by OnTera Broadband. "The infrastructure in these buildings is state-of-the-art technology," said Donald Skorka, senior vice president of EDB. "High-speed data connectivity utilizing T1 technology operates 50 times faster than traditional dial-up Internet service. The service is also offered with the latest send-and-receive email capabilities, including the ability to access their email via the Web from anywhere in the world."
Skorka says that Evolution Design Broadband will continue to seek out opportunities to assist other building owners and managers with their data and telecom systems requirements. He added, "As telecommunications technology evolves, we, as a part of Custom Design Communications, will be ready to offer the best in telecommunications services to our clients."
Custom Design Communications, Inc., founded in 1998, provides internal telecommunications infrastructure to major corporations; healthcare and other institutional organizations; and governmental entities. It is a single source for seamless integration of voice, data, and video systems to form a total integrated solution for a client's organization.
