EMIS System Aids Shell Oil Products US and Motiva Enterprises LLC in Environmental Management

CALIFORNIA, MOUNTAIN VIEW, May. 8 -/E-Wire/-- ESP (Environmental Software Providers) has announced that Shell Oil Products US and Motiva Enterprises LLC will implement opsEnvironmental™, the environmental management information system (EMIS) from ESP in all nine of the Companies' U.S. refineries. The software will serve as the data management infrastructure of Shell and Motiva's environmental management systems, and will help the companies track environmental performance and manage regulatory compliance throughout their refining operations.

"The software should enable staff throughout all areas of our refining operations to better track and report on environmental performance," said Mike Meeuwsen, Director of Environmental Affairs at Shell Oil Products US. "This is a key step in efforts to continuously improve performance in this area and we also expect it to complement our efforts towards ISO 14001 certification."

opsEnvironmental offers web-based tools which simplify and streamline environmental data tracking and reporting, and which help staff ensure compliance with federal, state, and corporate environmental requirements.

David Cox, Vice President of Sales at ESP, noted that the sale helps solidify ESP's position as the leader in EMIS software for the petrochemical industry. "opsEnvironmental is heavily implemented throughout the petrochemical industry, and the participation of our petrochemical industry customers in our User Group process helps ensure that our software continues to effectively serve the petrochemical industry. We are excited to be working with Shell Oil Products US and Motiva Enterprises LLC on this project, and look forward to an active relationship with them in the development of future versions of our software." opsEnvironmental's multi-media compliance management tools help companies in the oil and gas exploration, pipeline, refining, chemical, aerospace/defense, pharmaceutical, automotive and other industries comply with state and federal requirements. The software helps manage air, water and waste emissions. Its open architecture allows companies to integrate it with other operational systems such as SAP and Maximo.
