Nuclear Solutions, Inc. Applauds Passage of Senate Energy Bill

With Provisions to Revitalize Nuclear Industry

WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, Jun. 12 -/E-Wire/-- Nuclear Solutions Inc. (OTCBB: NSOL) lauded this week's Senate passage of energy legislation that would take significant steps to invigorate the nation's nuclear power industry. The Senate bill, which must be negotiated in final form with the House of Representatives, includes $865 million for research of technologies to reduce the volume of nuclear waste and long-term radioactivity.

"We believe the key to our nation's energy future lies largely with nuclear technologies, and we are confident the nuclear power industry is on the verge of a renaissance," said Patrick Herda, Nuclear Solutions' Vice President of Business Development. "Key provisions in the Senate energy bill would speed the nuclear industry's revitalization by funding critical research and development of technologies like those Nuclear Solutions has been pursuing for years."

Based upon this week's legislative action, Nuclear Solutions will deploy its lobbying team to procure federal funding for two specific technologies that address the goals of the Senate energy bill:

1. Nuclear Solutions is developing a process called GHR, which is envisioned as an economical, portable and modular nuclear wastewater processing system. By offering the potential to remediate tritium-contaminated nuclear wastewater, GHR could address a significant outstanding problem for the nuclear industry. Over 6 billion gallons of contaminated nuclear wastewater are held in storage locations in the United States alone, with an additional 11 million gallons created each year.

2. Nuclear Solutions is also developing a proprietary technology for the remediation of nuclear waste, which is envisioned to significantly reduce or eliminate long-term radioactivity through Photonuclear Waste Transmutation. The company is currently evaluating the potential of a high-intensity gamma laser system, which could significantly advance the efficiency and applicability of the Photonuclear Transmutation process.

"Our technologies are designed to provide clean, affordable and reliable nuclear energy in a safe and efficient manner," notes Herda. "Our core technologies involve new and sophisticated—sometimes revolutionary—approaches to problems that have existed in the nuclear industry for decades. In essence, our business goals parallel the policy goals of the Senate energy legislation. We believe Nuclear Solutions can play a significant role in advancing critical elements of the nation's emerging energy policy."
