Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. (LEA) Plans To Sell Three Prefabricated Buildings

PLAINVILLE, CONNECTICUT, Mar. 9 -/E-Wire/-- LEA is selling three movable buildings that are currently being used for the treatment of soils. Each building is a prefabricated tension membrane structure manufactured as a stand-alone building by RUBB Building Systems of Sanford, Maine. The buildings are two sizes, one 62.5 feet by 100 feet and two 150 feet by 100 feet structures. Each of the buildings can be increased or decreased in length in increments of 12.5 feet. The interior of the structure is free and clear of any structural members and provides unobstructed floor space. Each building is 36 feet high at its peak and 19.5 feet on the sidewall.

Two roll-up doors are provided with each of the three buildings. Each roll-up door is 16 feet tall by 20 feet wide. Each door can be operated manually with a chain or electrically with the provided door opener. Four personnel doors come with each of the two larger buildings. One personnel door is included with the smaller building. The buildings currently are not insulated, but can be insulated to meet buyers needs. Installation of the buildings can be provided by RUBB Building Systems. They can be reached by calling the RUBB Building Systems customer service at (207) 324-2877. A 3.5 million BTU/HR gas-fired hot water boiler is included with the structure.

The structure of the building is manufactured utilizing trusses for columns and roof trusses. Each column and roof truss assembly are made up of galvanized tubular steel designed to support a roof live load of 30 lbs. per square foot. The membrane forms a continuous, uninterrupted weather tight shell over the framework of each building. The membrane is made of a PVC coated polyester fabric which has been UV stabilized and is flame retardant. Two of the three buildings carry the remaining two years of a five-year warranty on the membrane.

The purchase price for the materials of all three buildings combined was approximately $875,000 in 1998. The asking price for the used structure is $350,000 with the boiler included.
