EarthShell Corporation Names M. Walker Rast to Board Of Directors

SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA, Aug. 27 -/E-Wire/Business Wire/-- EarthShell(R) Corporation (NASDAQ: ERTH), innovators of food service packaging designed with the environment in mind, today announced M. Walker Rast has joined the Company's Board of Directors. Mr. Rast brings more than three decades of senior management experience in the packaging industry as well as national and international board memberships encompassing both consumer and industrial products.

Mr. Rast's prior positions include membership of the Executive Board of Directors of Royal Packaging Industries Van Leer, a $2.5 billion worldwide packaging company, chairman and chief executive officer of Keyes Fibre Corporation, chairman of Van Leer Containers of North America, and chairman of Van Leer Holdings in Australia and the United Kingdom. He also held key management positions with Arcata Corporation and U.S. Gypsum Corporation. During his tenure as CEO of Keyes Fiber, the company was a key packaging supplier to major national customers, such as Wal-Mart and Perseco, the purchasing company for McDonald's Corporation.

Mr. Rast holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina, and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Seton Hall University. He is also a member of the Educational Foundation Board of the University of South Carolina and a member of the Advisory Board of the College of Engineering and Information Technology. Mr. Rast will fill the position on the Board of Directors previously held by Mr. A.J. "Bert" Moyer.
