TSX Venture Exchange Symbol: SNV
CANADA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, VANCOUVER, Sep. 18 -/E-Wire/-- Adam Sumel, President and CEO of Sonic Environmental Solutions Inc. (SNV.TSX Venture) announced that an internationally recognized engineering firm has completed an independent review providing the Company with a technical report including recommendations confirming our engineering and commercialization plans. This review concluded "The fundamentals of the process and SESI's technology developments form a foundation for a technically viable commercial scale process." The Company has initiated purchase orders for the required mechanical equipment and fabrication of components for its first commercial-scale PCB destruction facility; "Plant One". Sonic's engineering and operations staff expects a timely construction phase for Plant One.
Adam Sumel stated: "The construction of our first PCB destruction facility is a significant milestone for the Company and culminates two years of testing, design and engineering programs."
Sonic's patented Platform Technology has been independently verified to have commercial potential in seven proof-of-concept applications. Our success in the destruction of PCB in contaminated soil was the result of significant research and testing utilizing two of these proven applications.
PCB (Polychlorinated Biphenyl) has been listed by the United Nations Environmental Committee as one of the 12 most persistent organic pollutants on the planet. PCB has been released into soils through, improper use, spills and storage of PCB laden equipment. It has been noted that PCB could constitute a significant threat to humans, as it has been found in our food chain. Sonic is poised to enter this multi-billion dollar market with its PCB destruction application. Sonic's Technology can also destroy other organo-chlorines (solvents and pesticides) as well as removing hydrocarbons, including creosote. The Company will continue to build the required infrastructure around our core Technology, establishing Sonic as a full-service environmental remediation company. Management expects that development of additional opportunities using the Company's Platform Technology will be greatly facilitated by the commercial success in our initial application.
