Polycap GW Capsule meets EPA and DEP Protocols for Easy Filtering
of Dissolved or Suspended Metals in Ground Water, Easing Process and
Ensuring Quality and Durability
CLIFTON, NEW JERSEY, Sep. 22 -/E-Wire/Business Wire/-- Whatman Inc., a global leader in separations technology, today announced the availability of its Polycap(TM) GW Capsule. The latest release by Whatman is designed to meet the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and local department for Environmental Protection Agency (DEP) protocols for samples when analyzing dissolved or suspended metals in ground water.
"The ability of Whatman to meet strict environmental protocol standards while maintaining the high level of quality and ease-of-use for the capsule provides confidence in utilizing this durable ground water filter solution," said Shelly Brown, lab director at Microbac. "Our field agents are pleased with the product's efficiency and effectiveness and we appreciate Whatman and their ongoing innovations to further assist the government sector."
Housed in polypropylene material with an outstanding record of durability, the Whatman Polycap GW Capsule has been tested using the EPA Test Method 3005 protocols, it has low metal extractables and comes with a certification. The capsule has a large filter surface area optimized to provide 600cm(2) of effective filter area to ensure rapid collection of samples. In addition, the Polycap GW features thermal sealing, tapered end fittings as part of an encapsulated unit, eliminating the need to disassemble the filter unit to replace membrane or to follow decontaminating procedures.
"This product is another example of Whatman quality and our ongoing commitment to innovation and time saving technology," said Dr. Martin Smith, vice president of business development for Whatman.
The capsules are available in 0.45, 1.0 and 5.0um pore sizes for a variety of water conditions. For more information, visit www.whatman.com.
