Terra forms Environmental Technologies Division
SIOUX CITY, IOWA, Nov. 4 -/E-Wire/-- Terra Industries Inc. (NYSE symbol: TRA) announced it has formed the Terra Environmental Technologies Division to develop sales and services to customers using nitrogen products to reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) and other emissions from various sources, including power plants; and in other environmental processes, such as water treatment. Terra Environmental Technologies will design and deliver products that meet customer specifications and actively participate in developing and implementing emission control technologies and regulations.
Barry Lonsdale, currently Terra Canada Managing Director, is President of the new division, which consists of several Terra people from various locations filling sales, technical, logistics, environmental and safety roles. Lonsdale earned a B.S. in Applied/Natural Sciences and Economics from the University of Western Ontario. He has more than 25 years' experience in various areas of the chemical industry, including a position as North American Vice President of Lever Industries, a Unilever Company. He joined Terra in 1997 as Plant Manager of its Courtright, Ont., nitrogen manufacturing facility, and in 2001 was promoted to Managing Director of Terra International (Canada), Inc.
