ENVIRON establishes office in Tampa, Florida

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA, Jan. 20 -/E-Wire/-- Joseph H. Highland, Ph.D., C.E.O. of ENVIRON Holdings, Inc., is pleased to announce the establishment of an ENVIRON office in Tampa, Florida, as part of the firm's expansion in the Southeastern United States. The firm recently announced the opening of an office in Atlanta, Georgia. Principal Robert P. DeMott, Ph.D., D.A.B.T., has joined the firm to manage the Tampa office. In related news, Robert L. Powell, Ph.D., President & C.O.O., has relocated to Tampa.

ENVIRON's Tampa operations offer clients expert scientific consulting services relating to environmental forensics, toxicology and health effects, site characterization and remediation, and due diligence associated with merger and acquisition activities. Tampa staff have extensive regional experience with risk-based cleanup strategies addressing both human health and ecological risks. Our office leaders also have extensive experience evaluating concerns regarding specific claims of exposure to environmental chemicals.

A board-certified toxicologist with more than 10 years of experience, Dr. DeMott practices in the field of chemical risk analysis, evaluating exposures to chemicals in the workplace and the environment. His expertise includes reproductive and developmental toxicology and endocrine-related health effects. Dr. DeMott directs exposure analyses and human health and ecological risk assessments and develops effective risk management strategies for chemical exposures. He has worked extensively on soil arsenic target levels and incorporating bioavailability factors as chairman of the Florida Contaminated Soils Forum.

ENVIRON President & C.O.O., Robert L. Powell, Ph.D., has relocated to the Tampa office to support the development of services in the areas of soil and ground water contamination and environmental litigation support. A Registered Professional Engineer, Dr. Powell has more than 20 years of experience in general engineering consulting related to water resources, ground water hydrology, hazardous waste management, computer modeling of environmental systems, contaminated site remediation, and engineering design.
