Theragenics Expands TheraSeed Distribution Worldwide

GEORGIA, BUFORD, Mar. 20 -/E-Wire/-- Theragenics Corporation (NYSE: TGX - news), today announced that it has signed a five-year non-exclusive international agreement with Nycomed Amersham (NYSE: NYE - news) for the distribution of TheraSeedÂ®.

Under the terms of the agreement, Nycomed Amersham will be permitted to distribute TheraSeedÂ® immediately anywhere in the world for the treatment of prostate cancer and other solid localized cancerous tumors.

As a well-recognized world leader in the brachytherapy market, Nycomed Amersham through its existing distribution channels is well positioned to capitalize on markets outside the United States. This non-exclusive agreement represents a first of its kind international distribution alliance for Theragenics. Having TheraSeedÂ® available worldwide is a significant step forward for the Company and its cancer-curing product.
