New online wiseguide™

helps consumers make everyday, Earth Day

SAN RAFAEL, CALIFORNIA, Apr. 22 -/E-Wire/-- Information has always been a powerful tool for change, and Worldwise, a leading brand and supplier of environmentally responsible consumer products, is planning to help positively change consumer buying decisions with the official launch of the wiseguide™, a free online resource available at www.worldwise.com.

San Francisco Bay Area-based Worldwise was founded in 1990 with a dual mission: First, to make environmentally responsible products affordable, attractive and available to the average consumer, and second, to educate these consumers so they can make healthier, more sustainable lifestyle choices for themselves and their families.

With products such as pet beds filled with a fiber spun from recycled plastic bottles, to catnip that is certified organically grown, to garden accessories made from recycled computers, all selling well at retail stores such as Wal-Mart, Target, Kroger and The Home Depot, Worldwise is well on its way to fulfilling the first part of its mission. The wiseguide generously fulfills the second part.

"The wiseguide will help anyone interested in understanding the basic concepts related to sustainable living," said Aaron Lamstein, president and CEO of Worldwise. "It's quick, easy and free."

The comprehensive wiseguide includes a vast section called "Choosing Better Products," which rates products in over 100 common categories and identifies the features of the best to worst choice in terms of sustainability and health. The wiseguide purposely does not, however, endorse or recommend specific companies or product brand names.

According to sustainability expert and wiseguide author Debra Lynn Dadd, one of the most significant distinctions between the wiseguide and other environmental sites is the focus on people and products they use. The wiseguide answers the question, "What small steps can I take to improve my life and life on this planet?"

"We offer practical information you can use everyday," says Dadd. "If you're looking for an environmentally friendly shampoo, for instance, the wiseguide will help you learn how to recognize one." Other valuable features in the wiseguide include "Reading Product Labels" and "All About Recycling."

Dadd, a pioneering consumer advocate and author since 1982, used her own recovery from chemical sensitivities to seek and then share knowledge about products and lifestyle choices that are safer for human health and the environment. The "Queen of Green" (a moniker given her by the New York Times), eventually became one of Worldwise's three co-founders.

"Sustainability is about conscious choices based on acquired knowledge," says Dadd. "Thanks to Worldwise and the wiseguide, that knowledge is free and available to anyone who wants to make a difference." Worldwise Inc., is a leading supplier and brand of environmentally responsible consumer products that is changing the way people feel about the look, feel, price and performance of products made from recycled, reclaimed or sustainably harvested materials. Worldwise products are available at more than 15,000 stores nationwide and by educating consumers online at www.worldwise.com.
