DENVER, COLORADO, Apr. 26 -/E-Wire/Business Wire/-- In a recent survey, 92 percent of adults admit they worry about the harsh fumes emitted from cleaning products they use in their homes.

There is particular concern among women aged 25-49 with children, who worry about harsh fumes that may be a danger to their families.

The independent research, commissioned by Orange Glo International, the makers of Kaboom(R) and other household cleaning products, also shows that 73 percent of respondents believe their bathroom cleaning products contain harsh fumes. According to an article published in Environmental Science & Technology by the American Chemical Society, people are exposed to a wide variety of potentially harmful compounds in their homes that can cause severe health effects.

Despite strong concern about the potential effects, and the knowledge that current cleaners contain harsh fumes, respondents still state their number one priority for household cleaners is "that they live up to their claims."

A recent five-year EPA study found concentrations of 20 toxic compounds to be almost 200 times higher inside homes than outdoors.
