Sonic appoints Wes Young as Vice President of Engineering and Construction

CANADA, May. 4 -/E-Wire/-- Adam R. Sumel, President and CEO of Sonic Environmental Solutions Inc. (SNV.TSX Venture) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Wes Young, P.Eng. as Vice President of Engineering and Construction. Mr. Young has extensive experience in the design, construction and operation of environmental and industrial processes. He will be responsible for all such aspects of Sonic's commercial operations, with an immediate focus on Plant Two, our first full commercial scale facility.

Mr. Young will make an immediate contribution having previously been involved as a lead engineer (with an internationally recognized engineering firm) during the 2001 independent review of Sonic's Platform Technology. In this independent review, his team confirmed that several industrial applications using our Technology had achieved proof-of-concept. Mr. Young was also instrumental in subsequent reviews during 2002 and 2003 which confirmed and then validated Sonic's proprietary PCB destruction process.

Mr. Young has more than 29 years of experience in the design, development, and operation of process plants and associated facilities. His primary focus at Sonic will be to continue the success of our first plant and utilize this experience in subsequent designs for on-site deployment in widely varying field situations. Mr. Young is well qualified to accomplish this, with a proven track record of success:

- Principal of WYPRO Engineering Services Ltd (late 2002 - present)

a process engineering and project management consultancy serving

resource industries.

- Principal Process Engineer at Fluor Daniel Wright Ltd.

(an internationally recognized engineering firm, 1988 - 2002) in a

variety of metallurgical and chemical plant projects, and

technology applications including new technology reviews.

- Process Engineer with Earth Sciences Extraction Company

(1982 - 1987) at the uranium extraction plant in Calgary.

Mr. Young commented "I am very excited to be joining Sonic at this time. Opportunities like this don't present themselves very often. I have been very impressed with the pace of development and work that the Sonic team has achieved to date. Progress has gone very smoothly on the first Demonstration Facility (Plant One) and a firm foundation for the design and construction of subsequent plants has been established. Design of our second plant is underway and I look forward to playing an integral role in the successful deployment of our first large scale remediation project."

Mr. Young received his B.A.Sc. (1975) in Metallurgy and Materials Science from the University of Toronto, Ontario and subsequently gained his Certificate in Management from the Canadian Institute of Management in 1988. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the Provinces of B.C and Alberta.
