NY League of Conservation Voters Recognizes Calpine's Leadership in Clean Power Generation

SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA, May. 18 -/E-Wire/-- Peter Cartwright, chairman, CEO and president of Calpine Corporation [NYSE:CPN], will be honored at a dinner celebrating New York's Clean Air Champions, sponsored by New York League of Conservation Voters, on Thursday, May 20. Cartwright, a 50-year veteran and industry pioneer, will be praised along with Eliot Spitzer, New York's state attorney general. The keynote speaker will be Michael R. Bloomberg, mayor of New York.

The New York League of Conservation Voters, the non-profit, nonpartisan political arm of New York's environmental community, seeks to make environmental protection a priority with New York's elected officials, political candidates, businesses and voters by mobilizing New Yorkers as a political force on behalf of the environment.
