ZAP Recruits Peter Richard as VP of Operations

SANTA ROSA, CALIFORNIA, Jun. 15 -/E-Wire/-- Advanced technology vehicle company ZAP (OTC Bulletin Board: ZAPZ) announced today that it has hired Mr. Peter Richard as its new Vice President of Operations. Mr. Richard has a 25-year background in management, business development, operations, marketing, sales, public relations, and commercial real estate. ZAP CEO Steve Schneider has been recruiting Richard to come work for ZAP since taking over the company.

"Peter has run several successful businesses, many of them larger than ZAP," said Schneider. "His track record in management and operations are what we need to take ZAP from a bike and scooter manufacturer to a world leader in advanced technology vehicles."

Mr. Richard sold his Oregon-based business that he founded in 1996 in order to join ZAP. Over the past 25 years, Richard has founded businesses in marketing, advertising, event planning, office equipment, printing and more. Schneider says that Richard is a natural business leader wherever he goes, getting involved in community-based economic development, politics, legislative initiatives, business redevelopment, grant-writing, fundraising, commercial real estate, city planning, corporate planning, and retail trade development.

Richard first met Schneider in the Bay Area in the 1980s, where he worked as a sales and marketing consultant. Between 1978 and 1996, Richard worked in the financial district of San Francisco where he ran business-to-business sales and marketing organizations.

ZAP has been a leader in cleaner transportation technologies since 1994, delivering more than 85,000 vehicles to customers in more than 60 countries. A public company, ZAP is traded on the Over-the-Counter stock exchange under the symbol ZAPZ. The company offers a variety of advanced technology vehicles, including cars, bicycles, scooters, motorbikes, underwater scooters and more.
