Eurotech Projects EKOR Business Revenues Over $250,000,000 Annually within Five Years

VIRGINIA, FAIRFAX, Mar. 23 -/E-Wire/-- Eurotech Ltd. (AMEX:EUO - news) Don Hahnfeldt, Eurotech's President and CEO, announced that the Company's Nuclear and Environmental Business Unit, which is marketing EKOR, is expected to generate over $250 million annually within the next five years and turn profitable in 2002.

EKOR is a family of the radiation-resistant encapsulating materials that Eurotech is marketing to nuclear waste managers as a long-term solution to many of their problems in the isolation, transportation, storage and disposal of nuclear and hazardous waste. EKOR, which is now produced in the United States and tested to meet US standards, is the only product certified and successfully applied as a long-term isolation barrier of a radioactive fuel mass at Chernobyl.

"The EKOR team has done an outstanding job rapidly moving the EKOR family of products to enter a multibillion dollar nuclear and hazardous waste market', stated Jeff Stephen, Eurotech's Chief Operating Officer. The development of US based production and performance testing was achieved in less than twelve months time. The EKOR material is being introduced at US Department of Energy (DOE) sites where we have identified numerous potential applications for the EKOR family of products. Stephen added that success here should quickly translate into success in global markets.

The company's goal in 2001 is to generate contracts in the range of five to ten million dollars at primarily DOE locations. This will act as proof of principle for both product performance and the development of application technology across a broad spectrum of demonstration and small contracts. The success of first year applications will provide the base to move to larger contracts and move aggressively into other US federal, European and Far East markets. The Company estimates that globally it can generate $ 50 to $100 million in contracts in 2002", stated Jon Dowie, Eurotech's Chief Financial Officer.

Hahnfeldt added that we now have a team in place to move other of our advanced technologies to market. Market and revenue projections for HNIPU, a non-isocyanate alternative to polyurethane, and Sorbtech SB-1, a high performance, recyclable petroleum absorbent, will be announced in the near future.
