Headworks Inc. Introduces 'The Eliminator'

HOUSTON, TEXAS, Nov. 2 -/E-Wire/Business Wire/-- This year Headworks Inc., a Houston-based water and wastewater treatment equipment OEM, developed the next advancement in a long line of screening equipment. Designed for use in MBR Systems, the Eliminator(TM) provides unparalleled fine screening capabilities.

Membrane Bioreactor Systems (MBR) refers to the process of microfiltration, or the removal of tiny suspended solids and microorganisms from water and wastewater. The most common applications are in municipal drinking water, secondary effluent reuse and in reverse osmosis processes. The Eliminator(TM) is installed upstream of the finer filtration systems & enables unparalleled efficiency.

The Eliminator(TM) is a type of screen commonly referred to as a "bandscreen" or "centerflow" screen. The stainless elements form a continuous band, which travels parallel within the channel. The water enters through the center of the screen, turns 90 degrees, passes through the stainless steel sieve elements, and exits through the sides of the unit. Screenings are captured by the elements and are carried up to the discharge point.

The Eliminator's(TM) unique design and construction allow for the elimination of carryover, reduction in upstream floatables and significantly low maintenance requirements. Headworks(R) engineers continue to provide leading solutions to the industry's toughest problems.
