ARCADIS Helps Warsaw Reduce Traffic

EUROPE, Feb. 2 -/E-Wire/Business Wire/-- ARCADIS the international consulting and engineering company, today announced that it has won a contract for the design of a new by-pass east of the Polish capital of Warsaw. This 17 km long motorway will connect two national roads, No. 8 and No. 2. It is an important part in a plan to decrease the number of inner city traffic jams. Completion of the design is foreseen in February 2007. The total contract value for ARCADIS is EUR 3,2 million.

ARCADIS will investigate several alternative routes for the by-pass and be responsible for the design of connections between the by-pass and local infrastructure. ARCADIS will also design four new viaducts along the route, and will be responsible for preparing project- documentation, land acquisition and getting permits for the construction works. The company will also prepare tender documents for selecting contractors.
