TO BUSINESS AND ENVIRONMENTAL EDITORS:

ADA-ES Receives Prestigious Award for Air Pollution Control Technology

COLORADO, LITTLETON, Mar. 29 -/E-Wire/-- Environmental technology and specialty chemical company ADA-ES, a subsidiary of Earth Sciences (OTC Bulletin Board: ESCI), has been awarded the 2001 J. Deane Sensenbaugh Award by the Air and Waste Management Association (A&WMA;).

A&WMA;, recognized as the premier international environmental organization promoting global environmental responsibility, presented this award to ADA-ES in recognition of outstanding achievement in the field of air pollution control. ADA-ES is one of only nine organizations to receive this prestigious award in the last 13 years.

The award recognizes ADA-ES' flue gas conditioning products that reduce the emission of fine particles into the atmosphere from industrial plants. The products were initially developed with funding from the Department of Energy National Energy Technology Laboratory and EPRI, with the commercialization effort funded by Earth Sciences. Proprietary products developed through this effort have been successfully used by coal-fired electric power generating plants for more than two years, resulting in reduced emissions and lower operating costs.

A&WMA; based the award on the overall significance of the technology in solving a need and contributing to state-of-the-art technology.

Responding to the announcement, ADA-ES President Michael Durham said, "We are excited about this award because it recognizes the hard work that goes into developing and introducing new products into the air pollution market. We support and promote the environmental responsibility of our clients by continually improving our products and keeping new technology on the drawing board to meet future demands."

Past winners of this notable award include Joy/Niro, Research Cottrell, and the Gas Research Institute. This year's award will be presented to ADA-ES at the association's annual meeting in June.
