Wildlife Trust Appoints Linda Shockley as Director for Marketing and Communications
PALISADES, NEW YORK, Apr. 11 -/E-Wire/-- Wildlife Trust, the premier international organization working to understand the links between ecosystem, wildlife and human health, has named Linda Shockley as Director for Marketing and Communications. In her new role, Shockley is responsible for Wildlife Trust's website and print publications, media relations, branding, marketing and communications initiatives.
In making the announcement, Dr. Mary C. Pearl, President of Wildlife Trust, says, "We are delighted to have Linda join our team. Our scientists are creating exciting innovations in conservation around the world, and we are looking forward to working with Linda as she helps us bring our discoveries to a wider audience."
Shockley says, "I've had a lifelong passion for conservation and the environment so it seemed only natural for me to seek a position that combines my love of writing and public relations with conservation. In researching the field, I was thrilled to learn more about the global efforts of Wildlife Trust, particularly in the field of conservation medicine, an emerging field pioneered by Wildlife Trust. Our scientists are extraordinarily dedicated and our commitment to partnering with local scientists, worldwide, is especially appealing to me."
Previously, Shockley directed communications efforts for top performing arts and educational institutions, including Oberlin Conservatory of Music, The Santa Fe Opera, Brooklyn Friends School and Western States Arts Federation. She served as publicist for Grove/Atlantic, Inc., the Santa Fe Film Festival, New Mexico Governor's Arts Awards and the Pepsi/Isuzu March of Dimes Celebrity Ski Classic.
As a feature writer, Shockley's work has been published in a variety of publications, including oxygen.com, L.A. Style, New Mexico Magazine, Virginia, Blue Ridge Country, Mountain Biking, Santa Fe Reporter, Palm Springs Life and The Santa Fean. She wrote "Nightbeat," a weekly music column for The New Mexican, "Cheap Thrills Treks," a monthly travel column for The Roanoker, and contributed frequent arts coverage to The Albuquerque Journal. Her poetry has been published in Rolling Stone and Dance Ink. About Wildlife Trust Wildlife Trust is an international organization dedicated to empowering local conservation scientists worldwide to protect nature and safeguard ecosystems and human health.
