RiverWorks is proud to name CH2M HILL among customers for new rapid assessment system technology
LIVINGSTON, MONT. AND ATLANTA, GEORGIA, Aug. 9 -/E-Wire/-- THI RiverWorks, Inc., a leader in technology products and services targeted at the river restoration industry, announced that CH2M HILL has chosen RiverWorks Rapid Assessment System⢠(RRASâ¢) for stream and river assessment, inventory and monitoring.
This breakthrough technology provides a dramatic increase in operational efficiency and productivity while reducing bottom line expenses.
Rick Hirsekorn, Vice President with CH2M HILL in Atlanta, Ga., saw the value of the new RRAS⢠capabilities for his company's assessment and monitoring work.
"We found RRAS⢠to be an incredible tool. The purchase decision was easyâwe expect it will pay for itself in the very first use, with more efficient data collection and high-quality results," said Hirsekorn.
CH2M HILL is a multinational firm providing engineering, environmental, and related services to public and private clients worldwide, and has been named to Fortune magazine's list of "Most Admired Companies" and "Top 1,000 Firms" for 2005.
The latest version of RRAS⢠offers an unprecedented level of flexibility to meet virtually any water resource assessment, inventory, monitoring and restoration requirements. Since field data collection needs are vary widely between locations and objectives, RRAS⢠can now be customized to meet specific data collection needs and offers unique features not found with any other rapid assessment tool.
"We found that our customers loved many features of RRASâ¢, such as the rugged, waterproof construction, combined GPS and digital camera technologies, and stream cross-section display capabilities, but also wanted the added flexibility of customized data fields," said RiverWorks CEO Michael Sprague. "Now RRAS⢠users can add as many data fields as needed to collect all types of water resource data, while enjoying the full efficiency the system offers - such as touch-pad data entry, instantaneous data transfer and automated reporting."
Sprague points out that another big advantage of the handheld, besides the time savings, is data integrity, data consistency and data preservation.
"We're thrilled that leading companies like CH2M HILL are adopting this technology," said Sprague. "Our goal is to provide services and technologies that will advance the stream restoration industry, and assist the critical work being done to assess, inventory, monitor and, ultimately, restore our freshwater resources."
