EarthCare Makes Solid Waste Acquisition in Growing Florida Market

TEXAS, DALLAS, Apr. 2 -/E-Wire/-- EarthCare Company (Nasdaq: ECCO), announced today that it has acquired the assets of Palm Carting, Inc. Palm Carting currently provides construction and demolition waste services in Palm Beach and Broward counties in Florida and has plans to expand services into Dade County. These three counties account for more than one-third of the Florida population. Annual revenues for Palm Carting are approximately $2 million. Don Moorehead, Chairman and CEO of EarthCare, said, "Palm Carting operates in a high-growth market, and the company has an excellent management team and employees who will continue to enhance and grow this business. As we continue to implement our solid waste strategy and enter additional markets, we will be looking to add companies like Palm Carting. I am convinced that focusing on solid waste is the best way to increase EarthCare's shareholder value." Mr. Moorehead stated that other solid waste transactions are being reviewed, and additional acquisitions may be announced by mid-year 2001. EarthCare Company is a nonhazardous waste services company with business units serving the solid and liquid waste needs of a variety of residential, commercial, municipal and industrial customers.

Forward-looking statements in this release involve a number of risks and uncertainties that may cause actual results to differ materially from expected results. These risks and uncertainties are described in detail in the company's filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
