Leading ecotravel nonprofit brings resources to top eco-lifestyles website

VERMONT, BURLINGTON, Apr. 4 -/E-Wire/-- The International Ecotourism Society (TIES), a nonprofit membership organization, and naturalist.com, an online network for nature and natural health enthusiasts, have teamed up to provide travelers with expert ecotourism news and resources on the internet.

Based in Burlington, Vermont, TIES will tap into its extensive international ecotourism network to provide additional content for Wilderness Web รขย€ย“ naturalist.com's travel channel รขย€ย“ the largest worldwide eco-adventure travel reservation service on the internet.

As part of the new partnership, TIES will be the primary provider of ecolodge listings for naturalist.com, listing eco-friendly accommodations around the world. TIES also will supply responsible travel tips from its "Your Travel Choice Makes a Difference" consumer awareness campaign. In addition, naturalist.com will feature TIES' Ecotourism Observer, an e-news magazine that will launch in June 2001 and cover ecotourism and related travel worldwide.

"We are extremely excited about the partnership that we have developed with naturalist.com in response to the needs of the traveler," said Jeremy Garrett, TIES Membership and Publications Director. "We feel that this wealth of information will better inform travelers about the destinations they are visiting and about how they can ensure that these sites remain in a natural state."

"We look forward to working with such a reputable organization to further accomplish our mission of promoting and encouraging Ecotourism", said Mike McCarney naturalist.com VP of Ecotravel.
