Johns Hopkins University's M.S. in Environmental Sciences and Policy Announces In-Person and Online Open Houses: Courses Offered in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Online
WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, Oct. 11 -/E-Wire/-- The innovative M.S. in Environmental Sciences and Policy program at Johns Hopkins University announced today an in-person Open House and an Online Open House for prospective graduate students. Courses are offered each semester in Baltimore, MD; Washington, DC; and Online.
The M.S. program in Environmental Sciences and Policy, a School of Arts and Sciences' part-time graduate, occupies a broad position centered at the juncture between science and policy. Graduates of the program emerge with a combination of expertise in science and policy that enables them to assume key positions in public and private entities responsible for safeguarding our environmental future.
In-Person Open House in Washington, DC
The program will hold the in-person Open House on October 24, 2005 from 5:30 until 8:00 pm at JHU's Washington, DC Center at 1717 Massachusetts Avenue.
Prospective students can hear an overview of the program at 5:30 pm followed by an opportunity to participate in the Biodiversity and Wildlife Conservation class. The special guest for the class will be Francisco Dallmeier of the Smithsonian Institute, Biodiversity Monitoring Program. He will discuss "Models for Sustainability" at 6:15 pm, followed by a reception at 7:30 pm.

The program will hold its Online Open House on November 16, 2005 from 7:00 รขยย 9:00 pm EASTERN TIME.
Potential students who join the Online Open House will enjoy an online course on "Environmental Policymaking and Policy Analysis" taught by Rhey Solomon, former Deputy Director for Ecosystem Management Coordination for the U.S. Forest Service.
There will be the opportunity to chat with faculty, current students, and more.
