SAN PEDRO, CALIFORNIA, Oct. 18 -/E-Wire/Business Wire/-- Continuing to seek new fuel options for Port on-road and off-road equipment, the Port of Los Angeles is soliciting statements of interest from qualified liquefied natural gas (LNG) technology and provider companies through November 28, 2005.

Information is being sought on the LNG industry in the following areas:

-- equipment appropriate to utilize LNG fuel

-- benefits and limitations

-- cost(s) associated with LNG use

-- interest in developing an LNG fueling infrastructure within the Port

Targeted types of equipment are those traditionally diesel-fueled including, but not limited to:

-- cargo handling equipment

-- on-road heavy-duty vehicles, Class 8 trucks
