MICHIGAN, TROY, Apr. 12 -/E-Wire/-- Delphi Automotive Systems (NYSE: DPH) announced today that 92 of its 190 manufacturing facilities have been registered or recommended for registration for the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) 14001 environmental specification. ISO 14001 is an international environmental management system that integrates business practices with environmental goals to control impact on the environment while promoting productivity and reduction of waste. Registered locations have all completed third party audits and have been issued a certificate, and those recommended for registration have put all necessary systems in place to support the ISO standard and are awaiting final review by the registrar. Facilities are audited periodically to maintain their ISO 14001 registered status.

"The addition of 17 facilities to Delphi's growing list of registered or recommended sites puts us much closer to reaching our goal of registering all of our manufacturing facilities to the ISO standard by 2002," said Glenn Howarth, director, Delphi Environmental Services. "We are completely dedicated to instituting standardized practices throughout our worldwide operations to help ensure the protection of our employees, communities and the environment."

ISO is a global federation of national standard bodies, presently comprised of 127 members. The focus of ISO is to promote the development of standardization and related activities with a goal to facilitate the international exchange of goods and services, and to develop cooperation in the spheres of intellectual, scientific, technological and economic activity.
