Gorbachev of Green Cross International; David Oddsson, Prime Minister of Iceland; and the Honorees of the Third Annual New York Gala Awards to be held at the Rainbow Room, NYC. The Awards, presented by Global Green USA - the US affiliate of Green Cross International - recognize advancements in policy (Government of Iceland, Senators Sam Nunn and Richard Lugar), building (HOK), media (Bill Moyers and Judith Davidson Moyers) and organization (Pew Center on Global Climate Change) that forward the design of a sustainable and secure world. Pres. Gorbachev and Honorees will take Q & A on their environmental work and projects.
NEWS CONFERENCE Mikhail S. Gorbachev holds his first press conference since addressing members of the US Congress, leading activists and Russian experts on reducing nuclear and chemical arms. He will also discuss the issues of cliamate change--as addressed in the letter to president Bush that he co-signed with President Jimmy Carter, Stephen Hawking, Jane Goodall, Harrison Ford and others . There will be a photo op with President Gorbachev and Honorees who will then take Q & A The 3rd Annual New York Awards Dinner & Gala "Designing a Sustainable Future," for invited guests will take place at the Rainbow Room the night of the media conference.
